Past Cosmetics is a natural vintage-inspired makeup brand launched in February 2022 by actress and historian Satine Queeni. Our classic collections are inspired by the makeup industry from the twentieth century, which was a revolutionary period of new innovations for cosmetics. Our raison d'être is producing vintage-influenced cosmetics that will make you feel like you stepped back in time.

Our founder

Satine Queeni, the founder, creative & art director of Past Cosmetics is a French-born British American actress, historian, musician and philanthropist. She is particularly known for playing in period dramas spanning in the late modern period in American and British movies and series. She studies anthropology and cultural history, and is renowned for her quintessential vintage lifestyle and pastiches. Her mantra is "long live the good old days" and we make sure that our brand stands for that.

Accessibility is essential at Past Cosmetics. Thus, we create affordable, timeless and high quality products for everyone, everywhere. Our founder Satine Queeni thought that it was about time to change the cosmetic industry by making a brand accessible to everyone and a good quality in our products and beyond. Plus, most of our products are multitasking, making it easy for you to create your own makeup routine.

We keep it real

Past Cosmetics is built on the philosophy of authenticity, and for us that means genuine, unretouched skin. We do not use filters in pursuit of a "perfect" skin because it simply doesn't exist. Everyone's natural skin is different yet always beautiful. Also, we do not use artificial intelligence, and nothing on here is AI-generated in any way whatsoever.

Thus, our commitment to being cruelty-free and vegan is unwavering. We firmly believe in treating all living beings with respect and compassion, which is why we never test our products on animals or use any animal-derived ingredients and never will.

Our values, inside & out

Our objective is minimizing plastic parts, using post-consumer recycled materials wherever possible and recyclable materials for primary packages like PET(G), PP and Glass. All orders use 100% FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) recycled boxes and recycled packing materials that are sustainable. Moreover, our products are made with love by happy people. We are committed to a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery of any kind, in all aspects of our operations. This commitment extends to all companies that directly supply or provide services to our business. We believe in upholding the highest ethical standards and ensuring that our practices promote dignity and respect for all individuals.

What we support

1% of our annual sales goes to the Shanti foundation. Established in 2022, Shanti is a non-governmental organization launched by Satine Queeni. Shanti equally donates to varied projects worldwide such as the anti-war movement, protecting endangered animals, historic preservation and justice for everyone everywhere. Shanti holds frequent projects and new extensions were created afterwards for a more diversified and worldwide outcome.

Closure Announcement

On April 6, 2022, Satine Queeni Beauty was launched. Our brand saw different ethos and renames like Star Beauty for a year but finally came together on September 25, 2023 as Past Cosmetics.

Our goal was to create a natural vintage-inspired makeup, skincare and fragrance brand inspired by the cosmetic industry from the twentieth century. And that's what we did for two whole years.

But our founder Satine Queeni believes Past Cosmetics no longer aligns with its original vision. Thus, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of our brand. All of our skincare products were discontinued online on October 11, 2024, and continuously our makeup products will be discontinued as of Sunday, June 22, 2025. We are offering a clearance sale of 20% off everything on our website while supplies last.
